چکیده

In this paper, we propose two geographic routing metrics applied to wireless mesh networks that consider the use of channel width adaptation. The proposed metrics are evaluated through simulations jointly with a next hop channel width selection algorithm. The results show that the proposed metrics and algorithm generate greater throughput values when compared with existing geographic routing metrics. Keywords-Geographic Routing, Software Defined Radio, IEEE 802.11, Channel Width Adaptation, Routing Metric.

Cross-Layer Optimization of Voice over IP in Wireless Mesh Networks

Optimizing the operation of IEEE 802.11 networks requires estimatingthe load of the wireless channel. The channel busy fraction, which is thefraction of time in which the wireless channel is sensed busy due to suc-cessful or unsuccessful transmissions, can be used as indicator for this pur-pose. It can be obtained from e.g. the IEEE 802.11k channel load reportor hardware-spe...

A New Method based on Intelligent Water Drops for Multicast Routing in Wireless Mesh Networks

In recent years a new type of wireless networks named wireless mesh networks has drawn the attention of researchers. In order to increase the capacity of mesh network, nodes are equipped with multiple radios tuned on multiple channels emerging multi radio multi channel wireless mesh networks. Therefore, the main challenge of these networks is how to properly assign the channels to the radios. O...

A Hidden Node Aware Network Allocation Vector Management System for Multi-hop Wireless Ad hoc Networks

Many performance evaluations for IEEE 802.11distributed coordination function (DCF) have been previouslyreported in the literature. Some of them have clearly indicatedthat 802.11 MAC protocol has poor performance in multi-hopwireless ad hoc networks due to exposed and hidden nodeproblems. Although RTS/CTS transmission scheme mitigatesthese phenomena, it has not been successful in thoroughlyomit...

Comparative Performance Evaluation of Routing Algorithms in IEEE 802.15.4 and IEEE 802.11 with Different Ad Hoc Routing Protocol

Problem statement: Wireless ADHOC networks are self organized dynamic networks can share wireless channel without any established central control standard for IEEE 802.11. Approach: The most common protocols are AODV, DSDV, DSR in ADHOC used to ensure the data transmission among themselves. To meet the need of low power and low cost IEEE 802.15.4 standard was developed for sensor networks. Resu...
